Carnival is coming! This year your only concern is how to disguise yourself ! ESN Roma Luiss and ESN Roma 3 have already planned an amazing celebration.
Sunday, Feb. 26th we will let you experience one of the most popular Carnival festivals: the “Carnevalone Liberato” in Poggio Mirteto. This celebration dates back to the 1861, when the town was freed from the Papal State. Since then, it keeps its anticlerical nature. Indeed, the most popular mask is the devil holding a trident.
Regarding the schedule, the bus will leave from two places: 10.30 am in front of Piramide metro station and 11 am in Piazza Istria. You can catch it where it is more comfortable for you. Then, we will head to Poggio Mirteto. We are expected to get there around 1 pm to join the celebration. We will have a lunch-break all together and get ready to get mixed up in the Carnival atmosphere. You will be surrounded by crazy and funny masks. Shows, concerts, street artists and parades will follow one another all day long. Moreover, through the town you will have the chance to step by various kiosks and taste home-made wines and typical foods of the area.
At the end of the celebration, we will catch the bus at between 7 and 8 pm and we estimate to be back in Rome around 10 pm. We would like to inform you that even on the way back the bus will step by Piramide metro station and Piazza Istria.
So, it’s time to start thinking about how to cloak yourself! Don’t miss the chance of this entertaining and cheerful day with about 200 Eramsus students and your ESN friends!
