The following program aims to open places that are usually closed to the public. These are all quite exclusive visits, that show a secret side of Rome, inside private palaces, down into underground sites and behind locked doors. These are events for the discerning studentswho are willing to go deeper inside the discovery of the Eternal City. It is a way to understand the way Roman people used to live and how unknown masterpieces were born. All the tours will be guided by Costantino D’Orazio, art historian and author of the bestseller “The keys to open 99 secret places in Rome”.

Behind the most famous keyhole of Rome
On top of the Aventine hill there is one of the unmissable sites for the foreigners that come to Rome. Everyone has to peep through a keyhole in order to see St. Peters’ dome framed by a wonderful green hedge. Few people have the privilege to step beyond this keyhole and discover the church and the garden of the Knights of Malta, designed by Venetian architect Piranesi in the XVIII century. It gives the chance to know more about the history of this religious order in Rome and about a quite undiscovered masterpiece.
Meeting point: Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta (metro station Circo Massimo – then 1km walk on top of the hill)
